A Safe Place to call home is a right, not a privilege.
LEAP is a collaborative effort. Our community of family home providers and professional staff come together to form an interdependent network, combining resources and knowledge. We are constantly collecting data to optimize efficiency and move toward equal access to the quality of life our consumers choose to live. We learn from one another. Through a partnership with the Regional Centers throughout California and the community, we help push the limits of expectation and confidence in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
LEAP’s multidisciplinary team includes:
LEAP was founded in 2015 as a non-profit organization. We believed we could do better as a society through creating inclusion and recognizing the incredible contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities. We saw the deficiencies in the way individuals were being served and thought we could create a better system of care through advocacy, continuity of services, altruism and a more synergetic and unified approach.
Our unique approach actively incorporates these values:
Leveraging Equal Access Program (LEAP) is a not for profit corporation set up to serve individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. To leverage is to forge a mechanical advantage. LEAP’s mission is to be the mechanical advantage for those with intellectual or developmental disabilities to gain equal access to opportunity, full community integration, self-determination and a person-centered life experience. We promote dignity of risk and provide resources to level the playing field while using the “family home” as a home base for safety, dignity and support. LEAP is dedicated to providing a home like environment from which individuals served can navigate their own experience with the world.
